Create a Halloween Scene
Create a Halloween scene inside of a pumpkin with these simple Halloween crafts from Vicki O'Dell. Just cut out a hole and start creating!
Materials:
- Pumpkin
- X-acto knife
- Dimensional stickers from K&Company
- Wooden dowels or toothpicks
- Small block of foam
- Spanish moss
- Glow in the Dark paint (optional)
Instructions:
- Using an X-acto knife, carefully cut an oval-shaped hole in the front of the pumpkin.
- Gather up your scenery. In this case I used a whole slew of dimensional stickers from K&Company. You could use lots of different things though--a paper mache house, Halloween decorations, doll house miniatures etc.
- In order to get the stickers to stand up I stuck them to wooden dowels or toothpicks depending on the size of the sticker. The stickers I used are pretty strong but they could be reinforced with glue if you want.
- Glue a small block of foam into the bottom of the pumpkin and cover with spanish moss. Then just stick your stickers to the inside of the pumpkin and down into the foam (using the dowels or toothpicks).
- I think it might also add a little something to paint the inside of the pumpkin with Glow in the Dark paint before you put the scenery in. You could also cut a little hole in the back and thread a small string of lights through it.
