How to Create a Polka Dot Card for a Friend
Have you ever thought about a long distance friend but didn't have the time to sit down to an hour long phone call? In just fifteen minutes you can create a simple polka dot greeting card, write an "I am thinking of you" note, address it, and drop it in the mail. Follow this card tutorial by Alyice Edrich of The Dabbling Mum.
Materials:
- 1- Polka Dot Sheet from the 8x8 Scrapbook Kits In A Stack
- 1- White Sheet from the 8x8 Scrapbook Kits In A Stack
- 1- Friends Circle Sticker
- 1 - 5x7 Greeting Card with envelope
- 1 - Black marker
- 1 - Acrylic paint: green and black
Tools:
- 1 - Paintbrush
- 1 - Double-sided tape
- 1 - Scissors
- 1 - 3" Round canister
Instructions:
- Cut the polka dot paper 5 inches high and 7 inches wide.
- Place canister on top of white paper, making sure that part of the canister falls off the paper. Trace the canister and cut paper.
- Fold the blank greeting card in half.
- Place two strips of double-sided tape on top of the front of half of the card, then gently lay the polka dot paper on top of tape.
- Turn the circular cut-out over, place two strips of double-sided tape on the backside, flip, and place directly on top of the polka dot paper. Make sure the straight edges line up with the corner of the card.
- Place the "friends" sticker in the center of the white paper.
- Draw flower petals around the circle and paint with green acrylic paint. Let dry.
- Paint the edges of the white paper with green acrylic paint. Let dry.
- Trace the flower petals with black paint. Let dry.
- Paint the striped part of the "friends" circle with black paint. Let dry.
