Serendipity Blue Heart Card
Serendipity is part of creativity and you will be making serendipity paper to make this fun colorful card by Maria Nerius. Never throw out those paper scraps!
Materials:
- Card blank 5” x 6 1/2"
- Scraps of handmade, decorative, and color papers
- Sheet of cardstock
- Black cardstock
- Spray adhesive or paper glue
- Blue mulberry paper
- Permanent black marker fine tip
- Fiskars paper trimmer
- Optional: scraps of thin ribbons or threads, glitter, pigment inks
Instructions:
- Make your serendipity paper. Rip and tear scrap pieces of paper into tiny pieces. Vary the tiny pieces from 1/8” to 1/4” for best finished results. Spray or apply a thin layer of glue to a full size piece of cardstock. Start adding the tiny pieces of paper to the sheet of cardstock. Just randomly place torn paper here and there until entire sheet of paper is covered. You’ve created a sheet of serendipity paper! Allow to dry.
- Optional. As you are making your serendipity paper, you can also add bits of scrap ribbon or threads. I love adding bits of metallic threads to my serendipity paper. You can also sprinkle a little glitter as you are working so all adhesive is covered. Use your imagination!
- Trim a piece of the serendipity paper to 4 1/4" x 3 3/4" and mat onto black cardstock trimming to a 1/8” border. Mount onto card blank centered to the top.
- Rip a heart shape from the blue mulberry paper. Mount to center of the matted serendipity paper with a very light line of adhesive. Allow to dry. Outline the edge of this ripped heart with a black fine tipped permanent marker to let the heart pop with the black mat.

What crafter doesn't have scraps they would like to use :). And we all LOVE quick easy crafts. I use the "blue heart" on many cards.
