The cotton rope is very nautical, very rustic. I think you can apply this same technique to other types of fabrics, too- like some nylon cording, a very thick cording. And pick a color! Perhaps blue and white stripes, or coral and turquoise? There are many different options. Just use your imagination. This DIY is super simple to do, too!
