Primary TechniqueJewelry Making
Materials:
- Slim sewing thread spool, color: of your choice
- 2 strips of lightweight lace or lace ribbon, 2.75 inches long and 0.98 inches wide each
- 2 pieces of narrow satin ribbon, 9 inches long each, to tie in a bow around both ends of the candy bar
- Small pearls, beads and buttons, tiny fabric flowers – you could pick one type or a combination of all
- Brooch pin
- Strong and crystal clear craft glue
Instructions:
- Secure the loose thread end. To do that, pass it tightly through the readymade cuts on the spool end (If there are no readymade cuts use a little glue). Trim the end of the thread.
- After you’ve secured the thread, apply a little glue on both ends of your thread spool. Wrap the lace around these ends. The lace ends must overlap (about 0.78 - 0.98 inches). Wait for the glue to dry completely before you proceed. Trim the lace, if necessary.
- Tie the satin ribbons into a bow on each end. Trim the ribbons. Apply a tiny blob of crystal clear craft glue on each bow to make sure they won’t get untied. Wait till the glue dries.
- Turn the spool candy bar to its back side and secure the brooch pin with your strong craft glue. Again, wait for the glue to harden.
- Embellish as you wish, and your unique Spool Candy Bar Brooch is ready to wear with pride.
