I have your free pattern for the Afghan with Sleeves (knit). I would like to get yarn, but have discovered the yard measurement of the 3.5 ounce skein of Bernat Softee Chunky Yarn in the pattern is different than the yard measurement on the yarn label. How many yards of yarn are needed for the adult size Afghan with Sleeves. Thanks You!

This pattern is over 12 years old, the yarn was changed from a #5 chunky to a #6 super bulky yarn by the manufacturer about 9/10 years ago, so the yardage is correct for the old yarn but not the new one. You will need approximately 2,520 yards of a #5 chunky yarn to complete the project, to do it with the new yarn you would need to alter needle size and the cast on number of stitches.
