- Bernat Harmony (100 g / 3.5 oz) 47243 (Tapestry Green) 12 balls
- Circular knitting needle: size 6.5 mm (U.S. 10½) or size needed to obtain gauge.

Approx 45 x 59 ins [114.5 x 150 cm].
GAUGE
18 sts and 22 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] in pat.
STITCH GLOSSARY
C4B = slip next 2 sts onto a cable needle and leave at back of work. K2, then K2 from cable needle.
C4F = slip next 2 sts onto a cable needle and leave at front of work. K2, then K2 from cable needle.

Instructions:
Cast on 157 sts.
Work 8 rows in garter st (knit every row), noting that first row is WS and ending with WS facing for next row:
Next row: (Inc row). K6. *Inc 1 st in next st. K3. Rep from * to last 7 sts. Inc 1 st in next st. K6. 194 sts.
Proceed as follows:
1st row: (RS). Knit.
2nd and alt rows: Purl.
3rd row: K1. *C4B. K4. C4F. Rep from * to last st. K1.
5th row: Knit.
7th row: K3. C4F. C4B. *K4. C4F. C4B. Rep from * to last 3 sts. K3.
8th row: Purl.
Last 8 rows form Cable pat.
Rep last 8 rows of Cable pat until work from beg measures approx 57½ ins [146 cm], ending with 7th row of pat.
Next row: (Dec row). K6. *K2tog. K3. Rep from * to last 8 sts. K2tog. K6. 157 sts.
Work 8 rows in garter st, ending with WS facing for next row. Cast off knitways.
Finishing
Side edges: With RS of work facing, pick up and knit 190 sts along side edge. Work 8 rows in garter st, ending with WS facing for next row. Cast off knitways.
Tassel: (make 4). Cut a piece of cardboard 4½ ins [11 cm] wide. Wind yarn around cardboard 30 times. Break yarn leaving a long end and thread end through a needle. Slip needle through all loops and tie tightly. Remove cardboard and wind yarn tightly around loops ¾ inch [2 cm] below fold. Fasten securely. Cut through rem loops and trim ends evenly. Sew tassels at each corner of Afghan.
