Cast on 55 sts. Do not join. Working back and forth across needle in rows, proceed as follows:

Knit 3 rows (garter st), noting first row is WS.

Proceed in pat as follows:
1st row: (RS). Knit. -
2nd row: K2. Purl to last 2 sts. K2.

3rd row: K5. *P3. K3. Rep from * to last 2 sts. K2.

4th row: K2. *P3. K3. Rep from * to last 5 sts. P3. K2.

5th and 6th rows: As 1st and 2nd rows.

7th row: K2. *P3. K3. Rep from * to last 5 sts. P3. K2.

8th row: K5. *P3. K3. Rep from * to last 2 sts. K2.

Rep last 8 rows for Woven Pat until Blanket measures approx 56" [142 cm], ending on a 2nd row of pat.

I'd like to know the name of the pattern / stitch, I'm part of a forum for knit and crochet doers and I've no doubt they will ask what is it. Also if you could tell what multiple of sts it is it would be helpful. This blanket is simply gorgeous.

It doesn't say the name, but no matter I have 8 balls of chunky acrylic that I plan on making a throw / shawl for this winter. I love how the pattern looks and will attempt doing it. Thank you for the reply.

This looks super cozy. I'm wondering how long it would take, though, because 15 skeins of yarn is a commitment... especially with my track record of finishing nothing.

It's a one day project, it's 15 skeins but the skeins are only 64 yards, so it is only 960 yards on pretty large needles.
