Cold Weather Knit Dickie
A dickie warms your neck and shoulders in cold weather. Make one with this free knitting pattern for a warm and chunky but fashionable dickie from Bernat Yarns. With only two balls of yarn, this knitting pattern works up much quicker than a full sweater.
Materials:
- Yarn: 2 balls of Bernat Alpaca (100 g / 3.5 oz) #93143 (Sky).
- Knitting Needles: Size 6 mm (U.S. 10) or size needed to obtain gauge.
Gauge:
15 sts and 20 rows = 4" 10 cm in stocking st.
Size: One size fits average adult.
Pattern:
Cast on 63 sts.
1st row: (WS). K3. *P2. K3. Rep from * to end of row.
2nd row: P3. *K2. P3. Rep from * to end of row.
Rep last 2 rows for 8" [20.5 cm], ending with 1st row.
1st row: (RS of Yoke). Knit, inc 1 st in center. 64 sts. Place markers on 17th, 33rd, 49th and 64th sts.
2nd and alt rows: Purl.
3rd row: *K1. yfwd. Knit to marked st. yfwd. Rep from * to last st. K1.
Rep last 2 rows to 46 sts between marked sts, ending with 3rd row.
Knit 2 rows even. Cast off knitwise.
Sew back seam, reversing first 4" [10 cm] for turn back.
