Heidi's Cards
Use old fabric scraps to create Heidi's Cards from Heidi Borchers! This is a fantastic paper craft idea that friends and family members will love. This is a budget-friendly option that's fun and easy.
Materials:
- Plain greeting cards or card stock in various colors – 4 1/2” x 6 1/4” final size for card
- Matching envelopes
- Fabric – assorted prints
- Sewing machine (or you can glue)
- Thread – assorted colors
Instructions:
- Cut fabric slightly larger than measurement shown. For the frayed edges, tear or rip fabric for the background in various sizes. Cut the heart out with scissors.

Blue Card - Largest background 3 1/4”w x 5 1/4”, Small background 4 1/4” x 2 5/8”, Heart 2 1/4” x 3 1/4”

Yellow Card - Largest background 3 3/8” x 4-1/2”, Small background 3 5/8” x 4-5/8”, Heart 3-1/2” x 2-3/8”

Open card up and lay out the fabric on the card for placement. You can stitch each layer individually onto card or you can stitch all three layers together, then stitch the last layer to the card. The background fabrics have a straight stitch and the heart is a zig zag stitch. If you prefer you can glue all of the fabric together.
