Cake Pop Stand

Cake pops are hot right now...and now you can show off your culinary skills with this easy to make Cake Pop Stand from I Love to Create!  This homemade cake pop stand is great for any occasion, and you can decorate it to suit your every need!

Cake Pop Stand

Materials:

  • New Bisque Designs (Large Cake Pop Stand 8.75” x 8.75” x 3.25” and Small Cake Pop Stand 5.5” x 5.5” x 3”)
  • Duncan® Concepts® Underglazes for Bisque and Majolica in the following colors:
    • CN 013 Dark Straw
    • CN 292 Bright Purple
    • CN 504 Neon Orange
    • CN 514 Straw Sprinkles
    • CN 515 Neon Orange Sprinkles
    • CN 517 Purple Sprinkles
    • CN 520 Caribbean Sprinkles
  • Signature Brushes
    • SB 803 No. 4 Liner
    • SB 807 No. 6 Fan Glaze
    • SB 808 No. 4 Round
  • French Dimensions™ (FD 254 Black Licorice)
  • Duncan® Pure Brilliance® Clear Glaze
  • Ruler
  • Foil or foam plate for palette
  • Container for water
  • Pencil
  • Circle template
  • Potter’s sponge


Instructions:

Small Cake Pop Stand

  1. Wipe ware with damp sponge to remove bisque dust.
     
  2. Using a pencil and ruler, lightly draw vertical lines around stand, creating two lines per scalloped section as shown.
     
  3. Use the Liner and Round brushes to fill in lines with three coats of color, arranging in the following order: Bright Purple, Caribbean Sprinkles, Dark Straw, Neon Orange Sprinkles.
     
  4. Use the Fan Glaze brush to apply three coats of Neon Orange to the top of stand. Option: Leave top white and brush two coats of Pure Brilliance on the top.
     
  5. Stilt and fire to cone 06.

 

Large Cake Pop Stand

  1. Wipe ware with damp sponge to remove bisque dust.
     
  2. Use the pencil to lightly sketch in scalloped design along top of stand, aligning with scallops along bottom.
     
  3. Write out the phrase “let them eat cake” then use the circle template to trace circles all over stand for polka dots.
     
  4. Using all brushes as needed, apply three coats of Neon Orange to top of stand, including scalloped design along top edge.
     
  5. Use Black Licorice French Dimensions to trace over wording.
     
  6. Use the No. 4 Round to fill in polka dots with Neon Orange Sprinkles, Caribbean Sprinkles, Straw Sprinkles and Purple Sprinkles. Let dry completely.
     
  7. Dryfoot and fire to cone 06.
     
  8. Use the Fan Glaze brush to apply two coats of Pure Brilliance to the entire stand.
     
  9. Stilt and fire to cone 06.
