Add charming details to your next occasion with Chalk Ink Markers. Brought to you by Chalk Ink, these specially formulated markers last longer than plain chalk and give a smooth effect, perfect for handlettering signage for an upcoming party. Put them to a variety of uses! Chalk Ink Markers work on non-porous surfaces including metal, glass, plastic and chalkboard.
I had the opportunity to review Chalk Ink's summer colors (pictured above): Flamingo, Mediterranean, Showgirl, Texas Orange, Honey Girl, and Velvet Fog. These beautiful colors are marvelous for summer occasions. Great examples include signage in front of a coffee shop on a hot summer's day; at a suburban pool party; on the food table at a birthday party; and in so many other places!
I experimented around my apartment and colored on a few surfaces with these Chalk Ink Markers. Although signage is a very popular use for these markers, you can use them to "brighten any surface with colorful imagination!" As with paint pens, before you begin you'll want to shake well and depress the tip until the ink flows. I did this on a piece of black paper. Please be advised that Chalk Ink Markers work best on non-porous surfaces; you'll lose that beautiful opaque effect on porous surfaces like paper, and you won't be able to erase.
I tested the markers then on metal and on plastic. My metal desk lamp is black and the colors really popped!
Next, I tested the markers on my keyboard. I love the way it turned out! I noticed broader strokes are best when possible to really get a more solidly filled look.
To erase, wet a cloth or paper towel with water or an ammonia-based cleaner. The chalk came off easily with the wet paper towel.
The look of chalk on a chalkboard has always been a favorite of mine, and with Chalk Ink Markers, you can perfect the effect and really add lovely detail to any surface.
Which do you prefer: chalkboards or dry erase boards?
