Block printing is the new sewing! That may be an exaggeration, but these two crafts have one thing in common: both allow you to create one-of-a-kind fabric creations. Plaid's new line of Fabric Creations Paints and Block Printing Stamps enable crafters to make beautiful patterned garments and home decor with a bit of boho flair. Pillow cases, scarves, placemats, and more come together beautifully with this line of stamps and inks.
You'll need a few additional tools from the Fabric Creations system to get started. In addition to the block stamps and inks, be sure to get a foam mat and sponges. Pour a small amount of ink onto a paper plate and dab a sponge in the ink, blotting the spong in a clean area to make sure it isn't too heavily saturated. Then use the sponge to lightly cover the stamp. The white designs on the stamps make it easy for crafters to see when the stamp is fully covered in ink. From there you may press firmly on the fabric. Note: protect your fabric and/or work surface by placing the foam mat under your work. The foam mat allows you to really ensure the pattern will transfer seamlessly. However, don't worry if the design doesn't come out perfect! The point of Fabric Creations is to create that handmade look.
I'm blown away by these beautiful stamps. The intricate carvings pack so much detail into a small space, really lending an air of professionalism to any stamped project. The quality, handmade feel of any project made with the Fabric Creations system really creates a nice effect.
The Fabric Creations Soft Fabric Inks come in 25 fashionable colors. They are water based, non-toxic, and machine washable. You can use these inks for additional fabric projects like brushing on and stenciling in addition to block printing. Great for kids and adults alike!
