Christmas Tree Button Tote
Here is an easy Christmas craft that all your girl friends will love. The instructions are simple and the materials can be found easily at the craft store. This easy Christmas craft is great for gifting or toting around the holidays.
Materials:
- Tote bag
- Buttons
- For Christmas Tree: 9 small, 12 large, 1 star in silver and gold)
- Needle & thread
- Ribbon
Steps:
- Lay out buttons to resemble Christmas tree shape next to tote bag. I used small and large as well as gold and silver buttons.
- One by one start to sew each button on to the tote in the shape that you laid out next to the tote.
- Continue until you are done.
- Tie a ribbon in a bow and sew to where the handle attaches to the tote.
- Use your bag as a gift bag or tote it around town.

Love the use of buttons for any craft! I would use various shades of green buttons with a few smaller red ones here and there and a gold or silver one in top! If you find a star shaped button, that would be so nice on the top! Add a strand of small red twine or cording and entwine around the tree shape to resemble garland for an extra touch. And sew down with h hand zigzag stitch, unless you did the garland first. Very nice and creative craft!

This pattern will be great on sweatshirts,t-shirts,aprons and kitchen linens. Plus I'm going to use itfor stockings and a tree skirt. In a mini version for scrapbooking and cardmaking a well. I also intend to do a checkbook cover useing doll buttons! So cool and so many things to do with one pattern!

Would be cute on small bags with beads or tiny buttons. It would also be great to do a button Christmas Tree on a sweatshirt.
