So THIS is how etching is done at home!? I never knew the science behind it. So, at the very least I learned something today. As far as other applications that etching can be used for glass ornaments (although they are way smaller and could be tricky!), and wine glasses!

This DIY Christmas Etched Plates is a great idea. I have 1/2 a bottle of the Etching cream and didn't know what to do with it. Now I'm going to the dollar store and buy some plates and make these. What a great Christmas gift these will be, with everyone having there own etched plate to take home after dinner. Thank you so much for sharing this free DIY craft idea.

This is beautiful and after reading thru the instructions, I can't believe how easy it is to do. Hardly any supplies and very little time and work and you have a great gift. I can see it with names on them, words like welcome, congrAtulations and thank you, with one of my decorated cakes as a present. Thank you for sharing this one.
