Christmas Stables Card Holder
Use Christmas fabric to create an attractive bag for holding your Christmas cards this season. This simple quilt pattern requires some sewing experience and can be completed in 2 hours.
Materials:
- 1 Gathering at the Stables Wall Hanging Panel
- 2 yds. Holly and Pines for backing,
- bottom of panel, binding and rod pocket or tabs
- 1 yd. Hi Loft Batting
Instructions:
- Cut out wall hanging panel.
- At the bottom of the panel, measure down approx. 1” on the green gingham to the center and cut across the width of the panel. (Piece will be used as card pocket).
- Cut a piece of Holly and Pines backing fabric the same size as the cut “pocket” fabric.
- Sew the Holly and Pines piece to the bottom of the panel with right sides together to create the back of pocket.
- Hem the top of the pocket piece. Lay it on top of the Holly and Pines pocket back with right side up and baste in place.
- To create pockets, divide into four sections and stitch vertically.
- Use the wall hanging panel as a pattern to cut backing fabric and batting.
- Layer the panel and backing fabric wrong sides together, with batting in the middle. Baste.
- Topstitch as desired.
- Add rod pocket to the top of the back or make tabs for hanging.
- Bind as desired to finish.
