Essential Materials to Begin Sewing
- Pins- safety pins, straight pins and a pin cushion
- Needle and thread (of course)
- Fabric
- Any patterns you like
- Sharp fabric shears
- Paper scissors
- Small, trimming scissors
- Iron and ironing board
- Seam ripper (everyone makes mistakes!)
- Measuring tape
- Six-inch seam gauge
- Ruler

When I started sewing, my mom bought me my first sewing kit for hand sewing and it had a thimble which I was super excited to use and I don't see it on the list. You also need embroidery floss and embroidery hoops so you can practice your stitches. If you wanna know how to use a sewing machine however, then the list above is what you need.

Hi Up in the right corner by the newsletter sign-up there is a small sewing machine...I have one...does anyone know where i can find how to reload a bobbin...i can't remember. It came with so many loaded i am down to 6...HELP!!!
