I have some leather pieces laying around from a purse I was making and I came across this cute tutorial to make these leather and burlap coasters and wow I just found some burlap too. This is such an easy project to do and they will make some great gifts. Anyone can make these coasters. So easy to sew but I think I would sew around the burlap after fraying to keep it from fraying more. Thanks for the idea.

This looks like a fun project to try with someone who is learning to sew or craft with a variety of materials. When you mix materials, though, you can run into some problems. One thing to keep in mind here is that you can't toss these in with the laundry because burlap will shrink and ruin the project. If I didn't already have dozens of coasters, I would be making these!
