Being able to care for your self is a must. Having a natural heating pad may not be the most important thing to own it can actually be practical. I have seen the pads filled with rice and went the easy way by adding it to an old sock. These are so much more prettier.

Humm. This is the first time that I have seen corn sewn into a do it yourself heating pad. The added notes about the natural microwavable heating pad are greatly appreciated. My family would get a lot of use of these as we are all very active. I think I should make one for each member in varying sizes. Thanks for sharing.

I think my back smiled when I saw this. I have bones that are disintegrating in my lower back and some days it hurts very badly. I use an electric heating pad but it's such a complicated endeavor. The cord, the extension etc. This will be so much easier to set up and use.

I make them using face cloths folded in half and sew three side. Third side is where I put in filling.

I have seen these at craft fairs (when I didn't want one), but filled with barley -- and I have just enough time to make a couple in the time left until Christmas thanks

I need to make some of these for gifts and for myself. I have been looking for a natural heating pad that I bought at a craft fair and can never find them any more. This is so easy and fast. I have never heard about using corn. Does it hold the heat better? I am going to make some but you herbs in mine for helping with pain. Thanks.

I've made similar heating pouches only I filled them with rice instead of corn. A few drops of essential oils refreshes the aroma and makes your entire house smell good while its warming in the microwave. You can also make the bags in different sizes depending on what you need. Good for arthritic old pets too who seem to have heat seeking radars and appreciate comfort just like the rest of us.
