Simple awesome tote I shall make for learning experience. I plan to make mine black with red lining and quilted free motion diamonds.

Have the perfect fabric. before I cut......should I lengthen the knot ends? has anyone made it successfully?

This knot tote is so super cool. I love making totes and will be adding this pattern to my collection. I make totes to keep on hand for teacher gifts, birthday gifts or anything that pops up out of the blue. Have never made on with a knot so it will be something different and new. Anyone make it yet? How did it go?

I like this bag. The pattern is too large to print easily. Would like to suggest that patterns be drafted on graph paper so that one may draw as preferred. thank you.

Awesome suggestion, bobcob! We will keep that in mind. Thanks for the tip. -Kaylee, Editor of FaveCrafts.com

You need a sketch showing how the pattern looks when laid out. Just viewing it, it looks like some parts are missing.

I couldn't figure out if the pattern did or did not include a seam allowance. So I took a guess and assumed it did, i.e. I cut the fabric the same size as the pattern. The only alteration I made was: after reading all the comments, I extended the small tie part all the way to the center line. I had no problem tying it into a knot. When my bag was finished, it seemed small and also too short. The folds did not fall like in the picture. To fix it, I opened up the purse bottom again and added a bottom piece: a leaf shaped piece, 44 cm (17.5 in) long and 8 cm (3 in) wide when finished (add a double seam allowance to that when you cut the fabric). Now the purse looks better and is more functional, but the the folds still don't fall like in the picture.

I really like this purse, but this pattern needs editing. First you need to state in Step 2 to actually sew the pieces before you turn them right side out and you need to say how wide a seam we need to make. Also the notches are so short, you can't tie them. i hope I can salvage it, because I really love the fabric.

Hi eclecticldy--Thanks for your comment. We'll contact the designer and see if we can get an updated pattern. --FaveCrafts Editor

Sounds great, but I think you might want to actually sew it in step 2 before you turn it the other way out in step 3.

really like this pattern and would love to make this bag but I cannot get printable version

Tutorial link takes me to KoOnZie.com, but the page is blank with nothing enabled for viewing or navigating elsewhere. Please help!? I love the bag!

Love the look of this. I copied the pattern and cut out the pieces. I pinned the lining and outer piece together. I made a seam all around except for the 3 inches at the bottom. When I turned the pieces right side to, it was too small. I couldn't tie the small tabs together and couldn't pull the long pieces through. I am confused what to do between steps 2 and 3. I assume I wasn't supposed to sew the linings to the outer pieces. Looked for the tutorial to watch, but was unable to access it from the link. Any help is appreciated. Pity to waste the material.

Also could not get to the pattern. LOVE this look, but can't get to the pattern... Google docs won't let me in.

Hi terfree, the pattern should be fixed now. Sorry about the inconvenience!

Is there a tutorial to watch? If so I don't see it.

I think this purse looks so fun and easy to make. I didn't have any problem printing the pattern, you must realize that it comes out in 4 pieces and you have to glue them together and then cut out the purse pattern that way. It isn't hard. I am cutting it out tonight and going to put it together tomorrow. I think they will make cute Christmas presents for my daughters friends.

Hello - the KNOT TOTE pattern is NOT coming through for me to copy - I must have pattern to make the tote - can t you e-mail to me??? Thanks, Carol

Hi Gogramygo, the pattern should be fixed now. Sorry about the inconvenience!

not sure why it might not be printing for you, but you can find the pattern and tute on my blog here: http://www.mesewcrazy.com/2011/06/knot-tote-tutorial.html thanks!

@Sally Sews, To print the instructions, just look for the big Print button on top of each pattern below the title. Or, you can try highlighting the text, then right-click on it. You'll get a window that gives you the option to "copy." Do that, and then paste the text into a word document. You should be able print that document that way. To view and print the pattern, the images will be saved to your computer as PDF files. You will need the latest version of Adobe installed on your computer to print these. --Editor of FaveCrafts

I can't get the pattern or instructions to print out. The pattern only prints half of the first page and instructions all it prints is the picture. Help Thank you so much.
