Materials List

  • A pair of plain shoes
  • Old costume jewelry like brooches and earrings
  • Gem adhesive like Gem Tac
  • Jewelry pliers

Instructions

  1. First make sure the top of your shoe is clean and dry.

  2. Next pick your favorite gemmed jewelry breaking off any backings, and clasps. Use the jewelry pliers and toss out any extra metal pieces.

  3. Place jewels on the toe of the shoe to create a design you like. Use a statement piece in the middle of the toe and build around that. If you have a pair of earrings you can put one on each shoe for symmetry.

  4. Keep gluing until all the gems are all secure....and be sure to let the glue cure for 24 hours. Don’t worry: it’ll dry clear!

Why You'll Love This Recycled Craft

1. Upcycle old shoes: Instead of throwing away old shoes that are still in good condition but maybe a bit boring, give them a new lease on life by embellishing them with jewels and creating a whole new look.

2. Customize your style: DIY Jeweled Shoes allow you to express your creativity and individuality. You can choose the type and color of jewels to match your personal style, whether you prefer a bold and colorful look or a more subtle and elegant design.

3. Save money: Buying jeweled shoes from a store can be expensive, but making your own allows you to save money while still achieving a high-end look. Plus, you get the satisfaction of knowing that your shoes are one-of-a-kind and uniquely yours.
