Adorable DIY Spring Wrapping Paper

Materials:
- Unprinted newsprint paper
- Jablo’s stamps (see www.jabtex.co.za for international stockists)
- lavender stamp (PF 087)
- Krismisroos stamp (PF 045)
- rose stamp (G006)
- Acrylic paint in the following colors: lime green; powder blue; true red and sweet memories (pink)
- Pigment stamp pads in the following colors: silver; black; brown and light purple
- Clear stamp images: small bird; small owl and the phrase “it’s time to celebrate!”
- Clear acrylic block
- volored felt-tip pens: blue; red; purple, green and yellow
- Elmer’s Poster Tack
- Paintbrush
- Standard scissors
- Pencil
- Ruler
Instructions:
- Cut a strip of newsprint paper from the roll. Use a piece of Poster Tack on each corner of the strip of unprinted newsprint paper and stick it to a flat working surface.
- Start by stamping lavender flowers onto the strip of newspaper print. Use the paint brush to apply an even layer of the lime green acrylic paint on the stem and leaves, and purple ink on the flower itself. Transfer the image onto the newsprint paper. Repeat, stamping flowers in a random manner, until there are lavender flowers all over the newsprint paper.
- Press the clear stamp bird image onto the acrylic block and cover it with the black ink. Transfer the image onto the newsprint paper. Repeat, again stamping birds in a random manner onto the paper.
- Now use Krismisroos stamp cut the flowers loose from the stamp, so that you will be left with three separate flowers. Print flowers randomly all over the paper in true red and powder blue.
- Add some random brown owls with the acrylic block and the brown pigment stamp pad.
- Next, add the roses: Use the paint brush to apply an even layer of the lime green acrylic paint on the stem and leaves, and pink paint on the rose itself. Randomly transfer roses onto the newsprint paper.
- Now add the phrase “it’s time to celebrate!” with the acrylic block and the silver pigment stamp pad.
- Allow all the stamped images and phrases to dry thoroughly.
- Use the purple felt-tip pen to add some detail to the lavender flowers and roses, and the green felt-tip pen to add detail to the stems of these flowers.
- Use the red felt-tip pen to add some squiggly shapes to the centre and leaves of the blue flowers.
- Add some Z-shaped doodles in yellow and blue all over the newsprint paper.
