Ikea Inspired Dollhouse Lamp
"I can’t stop coming up with new ideas for my Barbie house. To say I’m obsessed is an understatement. But you will be too, once you see this freakin’ adorable Ikea inspired dollhouse lamp. It was easy to make and actually gives off light! Making miniature items for a dollhouse is so addictive. I'm currently building a dollhouse that is playscale (for Barbie) and I'm making so many adorable items from everyday objects. Here is one of them!"
Primary TechniqueGeneral Crafts
Materials List
- popsicle sticks
- 1 piece patterned craft paper
- small battery operated votive
- flower paper punch
Instructions
-
Break the end off of a large popsicle stick, so that it is approximately 2 inches long. You will need two popsicle sticks, as you need three wooden legs for the lamp base. Hot glue the legs to the sides of a small battery operated votive candle, making sure they are glued on evenly.
-
For the shade, I used a piece of white craft paper with a lacy embossed design. Cut a piece that is 6 x 10 inches. Using a small flower paper punch, cut random designs into the paper, to allow the candle light to shine through. Next, wrap the paper around the votive “lamp base” to form a cylinder shape. Use scotch tape to secure. (I used a bottle about the same diameter as the votive to wrap the paper around while shaping.) Stand the paper floor lamp upright then add the tiny Ikea inspired accent to your dollhouse.
