Page Keeper
Make your own page keeper, a wool accoutrement for hands-free reading. Learn how to embroider your page keepers and give them as gifts!
Materials:
- Wool
- Wool yarn scraps
- Large eye needle
- Two round, flat beach rocks--2 in. diameter
Instructions:
- First make a pattern. The pagekeep is 9 inches long, 1 1/2 inches in the center narrow part and 2 1/2 inches at the widest parts on the ends. Round the ends.
- Stitch down through the center narrow part to sew two pieces together. You can embroider a design on the end through only one layer of the material.
- Blanket stitch down alond the narrow center part and halfway around one end. Insert a beachrock inside the wide end and continue to blanket stitch down the other side and around the other end inserting a beachrock.

I bet a couple of large washers from the hardware store would work too! For large text books or those thinner craft books that you don't want to ruin the spine, by bending way back, a longer holder with a bit heavier weight would be great too! Thanks for the great tutorial! :0)

I think this is a great simple craft . I love walking on the beach so picking up beach rocks will now be added to my walk. I will be making this for friends and family, Mahalo (thank you) from Maui for you great craft
