    Soft & Cozy Slippers

    It's cold out there - warm up your toes with Soft & Cozy Slippers from Heidi Borchers. This free craft tutorial is perfect for anyone that likes to feel pampered! The only problem? You won't want to take them off!

    Soft & Cozy Slippers
     

    Materials:

    • For each: 1 pair slippers with sueded leather uppers
    • Iron-on fusible web

    For trees slippers:

    • Green print fabric scrap
    • Aleene’s Jewel It Glue
    • 6 (5-mm) crystal jewels
    • 2 (9”) lengths 1/8” wide silver metallic ribbon

    For snowflake slippers:

    • Deep blue acrylic fabric paint
    • Paintbrush
    • White-on-white print fabric scrap
    • Silver dimensional paint

    Directions:

    For trees slippers:

    1. Fuse web onto wrong side of green print fabric scrap
       
    2. Transfer pattern to fabric and cut out applique for first slipper, trimming bottom of applique as needed to fit toe of slipper.
       
    3. Reverse pattern, transfer to fabric, and cut out applique for second slipper.
       
    4. Trimming bottom of applique as needed to fit toe of slipper.
       
    5. Fuse 1 applique in place on toe of each slipper.
       
    6. Glue 1 jewel in place at top of each tree on each slipper.
       
    7. Tie each ribbon in bow.
       
    8. Glue 1 bow to each slipper.
       
    9. Let dry.

    For snowflake slippers:

    1. Paint leather portion of toe on each slipper.
       
    2. Let dry.
       
    3. Fuse web onto wrong side of white-on-white fabric.
       
    4. Transfer snowflake pattern to fabric and cut 2.
       
    5. Fuse 1 snowflake in place on toe of each slipper.
       
    6. Embellish toe of each slipper with dimensional paint as desired.
       
    7. Let dry.
