Soft & Cozy Slippers
It's cold out there - warm up your toes with Soft & Cozy Slippers from Heidi Borchers. This free craft tutorial is perfect for anyone that likes to feel pampered! The only problem? You won't want to take them off!
Materials:
- For each: 1 pair slippers with sueded leather uppers
- Iron-on fusible web
For trees slippers:
- Green print fabric scrap
- Aleene’s Jewel It Glue
- 6 (5-mm) crystal jewels
- 2 (9”) lengths 1/8” wide silver metallic ribbon
For snowflake slippers:
- Deep blue acrylic fabric paint
- Paintbrush
- White-on-white print fabric scrap
- Silver dimensional paint
Directions:
For trees slippers:
- Fuse web onto wrong side of green print fabric scrap
- Transfer pattern to fabric and cut out applique for first slipper, trimming bottom of applique as needed to fit toe of slipper.
- Reverse pattern, transfer to fabric, and cut out applique for second slipper.
- Trimming bottom of applique as needed to fit toe of slipper.
- Fuse 1 applique in place on toe of each slipper.
- Glue 1 jewel in place at top of each tree on each slipper.
- Tie each ribbon in bow.
- Glue 1 bow to each slipper.
- Let dry.
For snowflake slippers:
- Paint leather portion of toe on each slipper.
- Let dry.
- Fuse web onto wrong side of white-on-white fabric.
- Transfer snowflake pattern to fabric and cut 2.
- Fuse 1 snowflake in place on toe of each slipper.
- Embellish toe of each slipper with dimensional paint as desired.
- Let dry.
