Upcycled Outdoor Handwashing Station
"Rinse bottle out well, so it isn’t sticky water for handwashing! Heat the nail with the lighter and carefully poke a hole with the hot nail. Place the hole near the bottom, on the corner of the jug opposite the handle, so it will be at the bottom when it’s hanging. Make the hole small enough that you have to force the golf tee in, and it forms a good seal.Place the bar of soap in the stocking, and tie it to the handle of the jug. Keeping it in a lightweight stocking will allow it to be used through the material, but also keeps it from falling on the ground and getting dirty."
Why You'll Love This Trash to Treasure Craft
1. Sustainable practice: One of the top reasons to make the Upcycled Outdoor Handwashing Station is its eco-friendly nature. By repurposing old materials like a pallet, buckets, and scrap wood, you are reducing waste and giving new life to items that would otherwise end up in a landfill.
2. Functional design: This craft project provides a practical solution for outdoor handwashing, whether it's for gardening, DIY projects, or just enjoying the outdoors. The station features a faucet, soap dispenser, and towel rack, making it convenient for keeping clean while working or playing outside.
3. Customizable creativity: The Upcycled Outdoor Handwashing Station offers endless opportunities for personalization. You can paint the pallet in your favorite colors, add decorative hooks or knobs, and even incorporate additional features like a shelf for storage or a mirror for grooming.
4. Budget-friendly option: Making your own handwashing station from upcycled materials is a budget-friendly alternative to purchasing a pre-made one. With a little bit of creativity and DIY spirit, you can create a stylish and functional outdoor sink without breaking the bank.
5. Family-friendly project: This craft project is a great opportunity to involve the whole family in a fun and creative activity. Kids can help with painting, assembling, and decorating, making it a rewarding and educational experience for everyone. Plus, having a designated handwashing station encourages good hygiene habits in children and promotes outdoor play and learning.
