Macrame Heart Pendant
"This makes a perfect Valentine's Day gift. The Macrame Heart is about 1 inch long and can be used as a pendant or as a key chain. You will need 11 threads, each about one yard long. I used thin satin red thread. For this project you make two parts of the heart using Vertical and Horizontal Hitches, and then attach them together with Clear edge method."

How to Macrame a Heart
-
Put 1 thread across 10 others, leaving around 1/3 of the threads' length at the top. It will be a base thread. Make on it 10 Vertical Hitches with each thread.
-
Then separate the lower part of the threads on two parts (see picture below), criss cross middle (the 5th and 6th) threads and, using them as base threads, make Horizontal Hitches to the left and to the right.
-
Repeat previous steps, making 4 more rows of the Horizontal Hitches, leaving the base threads aside.
-
Repeat previous steps, making 4 more rows of the Horizontal Hitches, leaving the base threads aside.
-
Now take the ends of the 11th thread (the one that is across 10 others) and using them as a base, make Diagonal Hitches on both sides of the Heart.
-
Take two middle threads from the top and using them as base threads, make Diagonal Hitches all around the Heart. Repeat one more time, creating a 3rd row of Diagonal Hitches.
