DIY Banner Instructions
-
In your best handwriting, write the word “love” in six inch bubble letters onto scratch paper. Cut them out; this will be used as your stencil. If you prefer, you could also do this on the computer and print the letters out.
-
Use your stencil and trace the letters onto the glitter cardstock and cut those letters out.
-
Punch holes at the top of all the letters and sting the twine through the holes. Add tape to the back for extra support and to prevent the letters from tangling.
-
Hang from your mantel and you have an adorable Valentine's Day decoration. You can also follow this tutorial with a different word for any occasion you wish!

I have done this with my kids years ago to spell, out happy birthday, happy holidays, welcome home, congratulations and even garage sale! The more sparkle the better! Sometimes we cut up plastic tablecloths, the really cheap disposablemind, into flag pennants shapes and hung them along either side of the wording to gather more attention. It was fun tomdomit the kids and they had a blast!
