Creative Uses for Wine Corks
Creative Uses for Wine Corks by Arline Patten
If you cut them in half lengthwise, you can hot glue them to a square or rectangle backing board with a frame from trellis wood to make pot stands or a wall hanging to pin things to. They look really neat. If you need more corks, just contact a few restaurants and they will most likely keep them for you. You can also make a hot plate trivet out of corks. They are glued onto a 5-1/4" square of particle board, in alternating directions with no cutting necessary. They are very decorative and useful.

I've also made wreaths and centerpieces with wine corks. White glue works but hot glue seems to work best - at least for me. If you run out of corks, you can get more from the corkstore: http://www.corkstore.com/Products/Recycled-Corks
