Floral Decoupaged Easter Eggs
Use paper gift wrap with a floral motif to decoupage foam eggs for Easter decorating. Create a whole set for an Easter egg tree or give as Easter party favors. Project designed by Heidi Borchers.
Materials:
- Assorted sizes Styrofoam™ eggs
- Wire- 18 gauge- 3” length for each egg
- Aleene’s Tacky Glue
- Paper gift wrap with floral motifs- assorted
- Collage Glue
- Sponge brush
- Ribbon-2 lengths for each egg
Instructions:
Bend wire in half. Dip the ends of wire into the tacky glue. Push wire ends into the egg, forming ¼” long hanger loop. Cut gift wrap into ½” squares. Apply an even coat of collage glue to egg in desired position. Press gift wrap square into glue. Brush top of gift wrap with collage glue. Repeat to apply additional gift wrap squares to egg, overlapping squares to completely cover egg. Let dry. Brush entire surface of egg with 1 or 2 coats of the collage glue. Let dry.
Tie 1 ribbon length in bow. Glue bow to egg near hanger. Let dry. Thread remaining ribbon length through hanger loop. Knot ribbon ends together to hang egg.
