Chalkboard Paint Message Board
If you're looking for fun and creative ideas for using chalkboard paint, look no further than this Chalkboard Paint Message Board from Candace Jedrowicz. Hang one in your kitchen to let everyone know what's for dinner or leave a quick note before you head out the door in the morning.
Materials:
- Aleene’s Super Thick Tacky Glue
- Fun shaped wood board
- Drill and 1/8″ drill bit
- Chalk paint – I used black
- 14 gauge wire
- Needle nose pliers
- Assorted beads
- Beaded fringe
- Beaded string
- Fine sand paper – I used a 600 grit paper
Instructions:
-
Drill 2 holes at the top of your board, sand your board and wipe it off.
-
Follow the instructions on your chalk paint – I used a brush-on paint and did three coats, sand between.
-
Glue your beaded string around the edges and glue your beaded fringe on the bottom of the back. Allow to dry.
-
Cut a 16″ piece of wire. Insert both ends in the hole on the board and pull until you have a large enough loop of wire to hang on a hook or door knob. Bend the loop straight up.
- Bend the wire tail up. Using the pliers, coil the wire into decorative shapes, add beads between twists.
