Belvedere Floral Quilt

This exquisite quilt pattern uses the popular fabric collection Belvedere by Donna Dewberry. Seven fabrics complement one another in this quilt pattern.

Materials:

• Fabric A: Spaced Floral (1517155) ¾ yard
• Fabric B: Scroll Leaves (1517152) 1¼ yards
• Fabric C: Spaced Ferns (1517150) 1½ yards
• Fabric D: Packed Hydrangea (1517153) ¾ yard
• Fabric E: Plume Allover (1517149) 1 yard
• Fabric F: Packed Leaves (1517160) 3/8 yard
• Fabric G: Plaid (1517156) ½ yard
• Backing: Your Choice 4 yards

Cutting Directions:

• Fabric A: Cut sixteen 5½” squares.
• Fabric B: Cut sixty-four 2” squares. Cut six 2½” x width of fabric (WOF) strips. Piece them together into two 2½” x 48½” strips and two 2½” x 44½” strips.
• Fabric C: Cut six 5½” x WOF strips. Piece the strips into two 5½” x 58½” strips and two 5½” x 48½” strips. Cut thirty-two 1½” x 7½” strips and thirty-two 1½” x 5½” strips.
• Fabric D: Cut sixty-four 33/8” squares.
• Fabric E: Cut ninety-six 33/8” squares.
• Fabric F: Cut thirty-two 33/8” squares.
• Fabric G: Cut sixty-four 2½” x 3” strips.
• Backing: Piece into one 66” square.

Assembly Instructions:

1. Place one 2” Fabric B square on the upper left corner of one 5½” Fabric A square, right sides together. Sew across the diagonal of the smaller square from the upper right to the lower left corner (fig 1). Repeat with three more 2” Fabric B squares and the remaining three corners of the 5½” square (fig 2). Repeat with the remaining 5½” Fabric A squares to make sixteen Center Units total.
    
2. Sew one 1½” x 5½” strip to each side of the Center Unit. Sew one 1½” x 7½” strip to the top and bottom of the Center Unit.
    
3. Place one 33/8” Fabric D square on top of one 33/8” Fabric E square, right sides together. Draw a line across one diagonal of the top square. Sew ¼” away from both sides of the drawn line (fig 3). Cut on the drawn line to make two half-square triangles (fig 4). Repeat to make (128) D/E half-square triangles total.
    
4. Repeat Step 3 with thirty-two 33/8” Fabric F squares and thirty-two 33/8” Fabric E squares to make sixty-four E/F half-squares triangles total.
    
5. Follow the Block Layout to make sixteen blocks total.
    
6. Sew four blocks together to make one row. Make four rows total. Sew the rows together to make the quilt top.
    
7. Sew one 2½” x 44½” Fabric B strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew one 2½” x 48½” Fabric B strip to the top and bottom of the quilt top.
    
8. Sew one 5½” x 48½” Fabric C strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew one 5½” x 58½” strip to the top and bottom of the quilt top.
    
9. Layer, quilt and bind as desired.
