Instructions
-
Grab some construction paper that matches the color of skin and hair you want. Then get some red, yellow, and black or brown construction paper for the firefighter uniform and shoes.
-
Using the template, trace and cut out the hat and sleeve pattern on the red paper. Next, trace and cut out the head and hand patterns on the construction paper for the skin tone. Trace and cut out the hair pattern on the paper for the hair. Trace and cut out the strips and emblem on the yellow paper and the shoes on the black or brown paper.
-
Glue the hair onto the top of the head.
-
Cut a slit in your hat according to the pattern.
-
Slip the head and hair into the hat from below and glue to attach. Glue the emblem on the hat.
-
Use the sharpie to draw the eyes, nose, and mouth onto your firefighter’s face.
-
Glue one of the shorter yellow strips to the edge of each sleeve. Trim the excess yellow strips hanging from the sleeve.
-
Glue the hands to the sleeve at the yellow border.
-
Cut out a piece of red paper to cover the front of your paper bag. Glue the paper to one side of your paper bag to create the body of your puppet.
-
Flatten the bottom of your paper bag and glue on the head.
-
Glue an arm on each side of the bag. Then glue the two long, thick yellow strips to the top of the body.
-
Next, glue the shoes to the opening of the bag. Glue the thin yellow strips right above them. Use the sharpie to draw a line between the shoes to make it look like the puppet has two legs!
-
Finally, let everything dry, and voila! You’ve got your very own Paper Bag Firefighter Puppet!
