I am planning to make this afghan this fall as a gift. I will be changing the colors from the ones in this pattern and I always crochet my squares together because that is how I was taught many years ago. Plus I dislike the stiff look of sewing the squares together which looks boring to me. Everyone who sees my granny square crochet piece comments they like the way I do it.

After reading the pattern, I think it would be a neater way to join by ending each motif by a row of double crochet around each motif and joining by single crochet in the back loops rather than having the "holes" between each motif. Just sayin'.

I think I want to try this yarn. I havent used it before. Thanks for having a site with so many crafts and free patterns.
