How to Crochet the Lavender Lace Throw

Special Stitches

Shell – (2 dcs, [ch 1, 2 dcs] twice) as indicated in instructions.
V Stitch (V St) – (dc, ch 1, dc) as indicated in instructions.

Instructions

Throw Measures: 44” x 53”
Throw is crocheted in multiples of 8 plus 12.

Row 1 (RS): Ch 148, dc in 4th ch from hook. *skip 3 chs, Shell in next ch, skip 3 chs**, V St in next ch, repeat from * across ending last repeat at **, 2 dc in last ch, turn.
Row 2: Ch 4, dc in same stitch, *2 dcs in first ch space of Shell, ch 2, 2 dc in next ch space of same Shell**, (dc, ch 2, dc) in ch space of next V St, repeat from * across ending last repeat at **, V St in last stitch, turn.
Row 3: Ch 4, 2 dcs in next ch 1 space, V St in next ch 2 space, *Shell in next ch 2 space, V St in next ch 2 space, repeat from * across, 2 dcs in ch 1 space, ch 1, 1 dc in last stitch, turn.
Row 4: Ch 3, dc in same stitch, ch 1, dc in ch 1 space, (dc, ch 2, dc) in ch space of next V St, [2 dcs in first ch space of next Shell, ch 2, 2 dcs in next ch space of same Shell, (dc, ch 2, dc) in ch space of next V St] across, ending with 1 dc in last ch space, ch 1, 2 dcs in last stitch, turn.
Row 5: Ch 4, dc in same stitch, *Shell in next ch 2 space**, V St in next ch 2 space, repeat from * across ending last repeat at **, V St in last stitch, turn.
Continue pattern repeating Rows 2 – 5 for a total of 69 rows.

Edging

Round 1: Along top edge 8 dcs in right corner ch space of last row, [(sc, ch 3, sc) in ch 1 space of V St, skip 2 dcs, ch 1 and dc, 7 dcs in next dc] across, 8 dcs in last ch space.

- Work along side edge ch 3, (sc, ch 3, sc) in first dc, [ch 2, skip 1 dc, 5 dcs in next dc, ch 2, skip 1 dc, (sc, ch 3, sc) in next dc] across ending ch 3, 8 dcs in last ch space.

- Work along bottom edge [(sc, ch 3, sc) in ch below Shell, 7 dcs in ch below V St] across, 8 dcs in last ch space.

- Work along side edge ch 3, (sc, ch 3, sc) in first dc, [ch 2, skip 1 dc, 5 dcs in next dc, ch 2, skip 1 dc, (sc, ch 3, sc) in next dc) across, ch 3, join to beg dc.

- Work along side edge [ch 3, skip 1 ch 3 space, (sc, ch 2, dc, ch 2, sc) in next ch 3 space, ch 3, (sc, ch 3, sc) in center dc of 5 dcs] across ending ch 3.

- Work along bottom edge and opposite side edge continue pattern around as established, join to beginning of round and fasten off.

What a gorgeous design and color. I am hooked on purple. Any shade of it. Like another poster said, from a distance this looks like another afghan. But up close the details show thru and it is such a delicate feminine look. It's not hard and I want to make it in just this color.

The designer put a lot of thought into this throw. The design is so delicate but I am sure the project will last as long as it is taken care of. Not sure which color to select but I think a pale pink will be best for my shabby chic bedroom.

Another unassuming piece of crochet masterpiece. From afar, you'd think it's a very simple blanket that appears drab but when you look closely, the finished product is amazing! It is an intricate lace design utilizing the shell stitch mostly in double crochets. So amazing!! Let's do this!

This Lavender Lace Throw is exquisite. The design is very feminine. The shell and v-stitch look very complicated but once you get the hang of it, it is really simple. The color pallet in my guest room is pastels and this lavender lace throw will fit right in.

I'm doing the lavender throw. I did chain 148 and i'm on row 61 right now. I'm not getting 44"x53" like in the instructions. I'm not getting that size. i'm doing 69 rows. is there a mistake in instructions. i'm using 3 skeins but instructions says 8 skeins.

This pattern would be lovely worked up as a baby blanket for a baby gift for a baby shower, or done in white as a christening gift. This lacy blanket would also work as a throw on the back of a couch, or as a lap blanket for your mom or grandmother. I got this done in a weekend, super easy.

Hi i am having trouble under standing the pattern after missing 3 chains you do a shell twice do you do a chain in between the 2 sets of shells is there a picture tutorial as i really like to do this pattern blanket please help thankyou

I can't wait to make this, but I'm confused. It says it's made using multiples of 8 + 12. 15 times 8 equals 120 plus 12 equals 132. This starts with "ch135" WHAT am I missing?!!!

Hi there! If you hold down "Ctrl+P" on your keyboard, that will give you the option to print! You can also right click anywhere on the page and select print. What I like to do is copy and paste the text into a Word document so I can format it nicely before I print. I hope that helps!
