Tequila Sunrise Afghan

Materials:
- 8 skeins Red Heart Classic yarn in Grenadine
- 1 skien Red Heart Classic yarn in Lily Pink
- 4.5mm (US G-6) or size needed for gauge
Gauge: Rows 2-5 – 2 ¼”; Shell, sc – 2”
Special Stitches:
- Cluster (Cl) –*yo, insert hook in specified stitch and draw up a loop, yo and draw through 2 loops, repeat from * once in same stitch, yo and draw through 3 loops.
- Beginning Cluster (Beg Cl) – Ch 3, yo, insert hook in same stitch and draw up a loop, yo and draw through 2 loops, yo and draw through remaining 2 loops.
- Shell – (Cl, ch 2) twice in same stitch, Cl again in same stitch.
- Picot – (sc, ch 3, sc) in same stitch or space.
Instructions:
Throw Measures: 42” x 51”
Throw is worked in multiples of 8 plus 2.
- Row 1: With grenadine ch 162, sc in 2nd ch from hook, [skip 3 chs, Shell in next ch, skip 3 chs, sc in next ch across, turn.
- Row 2: Ch 6, [sc in center Cl of next Shell, ch 3, dc in next sc, ch 3] across ending last repeat with dc in last sc, turn.
- Row 3: (Beg Cl, ch 2, Cl) in first dc, [sc in next sc, Shell in next dc] across to ch 6 turning ch, (Cl, ch 2, Cl) in 3rd ch of turning ch, turn.
- Row 4: Ch 1, sc in top of first Cl, [ch 3, dc in next sc, ch 3, sc in center Cl of next Shell] across ending last repeat with sc in top of last Cl.
- Row 5: Ch 1, sc in first sc, [Shell in next dc, sc in next dc] across, turn.
- Repeat Rows 2 – 5 for a total of 80 rows, turn, Do Not Fasten Off.
Edging
- Round 1: Work along top edge picot in first sc, [ch 2, picot in next dc, ch 2, picot in next sc] across, picot in last sc.
- Work along side edge ch 2, [picot in space between next 2 rows, ch 2] across.
- Work along bottom edge picot in first sc, [ch 2, picot in ch below Shell, ch 2, picot in ch below sc] across, picot in last sc.
- Work along side edge as for opposite side edge, join to beginning sc and fasten off.
- Round 2: Work along top edge join lily pink in right corner ch 3 space [Beg Cl, ch 2, (Cl, ch 2) 3 times, Cl] in same space, *sc in next ch 3 space, [(Cl, ch 2,) 3 times, Cl] in next ch 3 space, repeat from * across, [(Cl, ch 2) 4 times, Cl] in corner ch 3 space, continue pattern around entire throw, join to top of Beg Cl.
- Round 3: Slip stitch into ch 2 space, sc in same space, (ch 3, sc in next ch 2 space) 3 times, *ch 3, sc in next sc, (ch 3, sc in next ch 2 space) 3 times, repeat from * across ending row (ch 3, sc in next ch 2 space) 4 times, continue pattern around entire throw, join to beginning sc and fasten off.
