Stuff the owl's body. Thread the yarn tail on a yarn needle. Pinch the opening closed with the hdc/dc/hdc sts of round 20 on each end of the pinch. These ends will form the points of the head. Whip stitch the opening closed. Finish off and weave in the yarn end.

Do not stuff. Thread the yarn tail on a yarn needle. Flatten a wing and pinch the opening closed. Place the pinched opening on the side of the owl, along the row where the yarn color was changed. Whip stitch the pinched opening to the owl. Finish off and weave in the yarn end. Repeat with the remaining wing on the other side of the owl.
Eyes (Make 2):
Using the 3rd yarn color, ch 3. Join with a slip stitch to form a ring.
Round 1
6 sc in the ring.
Round 2
2 sc in each st of the round. (12 sc) Sl st in the next st and finish off leaving a tail for sewing.
Choose two flat buttons from your button collection to use as the pupils. They do not have to match. Using a sewing needle and thread, hand sew a button to the center of each eye. Position the eyes on the front of the owl, over the color change row between the body and the head. The two eyes should be touching in the center. Pin to hold. Thread an eye yarn tail on a yarn needle. Whip stitch around the eye to attach. Finish off and weave in the yarn end. Repeat with the other yarn tail on the remaining eye.
Thread yellow gold yarn on your yarn needle. Starting in the gap between the eyes, sew horizontal straight stitches, starting with a stitch approximately 1/2 inch long and gradually decreasing until you have a triangle beak approximately 3/4 inch tall. Finish off the yarn.
Note:
- The decrease stitches in this pattern are single crochet stitches.
