You can not go wrong with this blanket. If you are in the market to create something to gift this could easily be used for a boy or a girl. It does take a few skeins of yarn but the blanket will measure 40 x 42 1/2 if the gauge is right. This blanket will add charm to any baby's room.

This is such a cute baby blanket pattern. The pattern is easy to follow, which makes it the perfect project for any beginner, or anyone who wants something simple to work on. This would be the perfect baby shower gift for those who do not tell you what they are having before the baby is born, because it has both girl and boy colors. If you do know, you hold easily change the color ombination.

Fairy Tale Baby Afghan is a good beginner project. The colors are really pretty and this could be made up of a variety of baby colors. It looks like a very delicate looking blanket and looks like it would be fun to make. This is definitely a project that I am going to try.
