This is such a cute sweater! I wish there were directions for a smaller size, closer to newborn. My sister is due in October, and I would love to make this for her baby to wear for his or her first winter. I guess I will just have to make a bigger size and he or she can bow into it.

I love Bernat baby yarn. It is very soft, and I dont have a problem with splitting the yarn like I do on some other brands. Whenever it goes on sale I stock up because I know I'll be using it to make something. I just have to have an idea of what I'm going to make, like a plushie or blanket so I know many skeins to buy. There's nothing worse than running out of yarn before you finish the project only to find it's been discontinued or out of stock!

If 21 should be 25 then should 25 be 29?

2 places that need just a little more instruction. I am trying to make this now, and I am on the front. We keep going up the rightside for the opening and then the left correct? Then sleeve "shape top" that is the top of sleeve or top of back or front? Waiting for answer. Thank you so far this has been wonderful.

the front of this patternwhere you start the neck it says to crochet 21 it should be 25 stitches with 2 stitches lift unworked for the neck /front opening
