I love the look of the anchors away bag but I have never done tapestry crochet and it feels like a lot of trouble to me. I would almost like to just cross stitch directly on top of the finished bucket bag using a huge tapestry needle with my contrasting yarn. What has been your experience in attempting tapestry crochet for the first time? Tips or tricks?

Just in time for Summer. WHat a great pattern. It's not only summerish ,nautical and just plain aborable, it's also very patriotic. I make and sell purses on Etsy and this pretty bag may not make it to my shop, I may keep it all to myself. Thank you for sharing this pattern and idea.
