Cute Crossbody Bag

Materials:
- 200 yards of worsted-weight yarn, color of your choice
- Fabric for purse flap (pattern of your choice)
- Snap or zipper for closure
Instructions:
Front Flap:
chain 45
row 1: hdc in 3rd ch from hook across
row 2-30: ch 2, turn, hdc crochet across. at the end of row 30, tie off
Back:
1: sc approx 30 across the short side
2: ch 1, turn and sc decrease across
3: ch 1, turn, 2 sc in each sc decrease across
*repeat for short side on opposite side*
4.fold bag in half, make sure the short sides are lined up evenly
sl st through both pieces to close up sidesafter joining yarn, continue with a series of slip stitches to close up sides. When done, repeat on opposite side as well
flip bag inside out so that the sl sts are inside of the bag.
Straps:
1. ch 100 (more or less for a shorter or taller person)
row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook
row 2: chain 3, triple crochet across
row 3: ch 1, sc across and tie off
2. attach straps to inside of the bag
From this point on you can add fabric, a zipper, a snap, or anything you'd like

So, did you ever get an answer from the designer? I'd like to make this bag, suits my needs perfectly, but no hook size and how about the decrease and fabric for the front flap is not shown...

I wouldn't mind making this bag, but the instructions are a bit vague. No hook size ( I guess whatever you want), no gauge ?? and the instructions for the back are iffy, how much do you decrease??? Was this not a free pattern and the things left out on purpose? Thanks, Bette
