    Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)

    Crochet Gauge16 hdc = 4"(10 cm); Rounds 1-5 = 4" (10 cm).  CHECK YOUR GAUGE.  Use any size hook to obtain gauge.

    Finished SizeOrnament measures 4” (10 cm) in diameter.

    • Susan Bates® Crochet Hook: 4mm [US G-6]
    • Fiberfill
    • Yarn needle

    How to Crochet the Bull's Eye Ornament

    Note: Instructions are written for one color scheme; the other 2 color schemes are indicated in ( )s. Always join rounds with slip stitch in top of first hdc unless otherwise stated.

    Front Large Circle

    1. With A (E, D), ch 4; join with slip st in first ch to form ring.

    2. Round 1 (Right Side): Ch 1, 14 hdc in ring; join – 14 hdc.

    3. Round 2: Ch 1, [2 hdc in next hdc, hdc in next hdc] around; join – 21 hdc.

    4. Round 3: Ch 1, [2 hdc in next hdc, hdc in next hdc] around, work 2 hdc in last hdc; join – 32 hdc.

    5. Round 4: Ch 1, [2 hdc in next hdc, hdc in next 2 hdc] around, work hdc in last 2 hdc; join – 42 hdc.

    6. Round 5: Ch 1, [2 hdc in next hdc, hdc in next 6 hdc] around; join – 48 hdc.

    7.  Fasten off. Weave in all ends.

    Front Medium Circle

    1. Rounds 1-3: With B (F, C), repeat Rounds 1-3 of Front Large Circle.

    2. Round 4: Ch 1, sc loosely in each hdc around; join with slip st in first sc – 32 sc.

    3.  Fasten off. Weave in all ends.

    Front Small Circle

    1. With C (B, A), ch 4; join with slip st in first ch to form ring.

    2. Round 1: Ch 1, 10 hdc in ring; join – 10 hdc.

    3. Round 2: Ch 2 (does not count as first dc), [2 dc in next hdc, FPdc in next hdc] around; join with slip st in first dc – 10 dc, 5 FPdc.

    4.  Fasten off. Weave in all ends.

    BACK (Make 3)

    1. With A (E, D), repeat instruction for Front Large Circle; draw up loop, do not fasten off.

    FINISHING

    1. With C (B, A), slip st Front Small Circle to center of Front Medium Circle; with B (F, C), slip st Front Medium Circle to center of Front Large Circle.

    ASSEMBLY

    Place assembled Front Large Circle and Back Wrong Sides together; with Right Side facing, draw working loop of Back through corresponding hdc of Front Large Circle; sc evenly around through both layers, leaving a 1½" (3.8cm) space; lightly stuff ornament with fiberfill; continue with sc to close space; ch 30 for hanging loop, slip st in last sc; join with slip st in first sc. Fasten off. Weave in ends.

    Front post double crochet (FPdc)
    Yo, insert hook from front to back to front again around post of indicated st, yo and pull up a loop, [yo and draw through 2 loops on hook] twice.
