Deer Trail
Whenever I find myself in a forest, I’m always hopeful for the chance to see some of the animals that call it their home. Every snap of a branch and every crunch of dead leaves is a potential wildlife sighting. Catching a glimpse of a deer furtively escaping through the trees is especially thrilling. Next time you’re in the woods, keep your eyes peeled and you may very well be able to spot some elusive creature!
When designing cross-stitch patterns, I enjoy using lots of negative space, lines and geometry, and Deer Trail involves all of these. If finding colored fabric proves to be difficult, you can simply fill the negative spaces in this design with a dark green thread for a similar look.

Did You Know?
Deer, elk, moose and caribou all belong to the Cervidae family and share one common feature: antlers. Antlers, which these animals shed and regrow every year, are the fastest growing of all mammal bones. Although cervids mostly use antlers for display and courting, they also use them as weapons, for protection and to help when foraging.
