Easy 4th of July Shirt
Use TAP Paper (transfer artist paper) to create a patriotic shirt to wear this 4th of July. Draw your own design or follow this wearable 4th of July craft project from Lisa Fulmer.
Materials:
- TAP Paper (transfer artist paper)
- Scratch paper
- Permanent Opaque Markers
- T-Shirt
- Iron
- Optional- Star Stencil
- Optional- Light box
Instructions:
- Plan your design on a piece of scratch paper first. if you want to include letters, you have to draw them backwards for the transfer (tracing regular letters turned backwards on a light box helps make it easier).
- Using permanent opaque markers (choose a brand that doesn't bleed), draw, stencil or trace your design on to the tap. use gentle pressure so you don't damage the surface of the tap.
- Trim out your drawing(s) close to the edges.
- Turn the tap design side toward the tee shirt and position where you want - secure to the tee shirt with a couple small pieces of blue painter's tape.
- Follow the directions on the tap package to transfer the image to your shirt, using a hot iron on a firm, heat-resistant surface (a regular ironing board is not firm enough).

Making this t shirt with these lovely stars would be a great project for a scout troop or as a fun kid activity during a neighborhood cookout! There are some special fabric markers out there that would work great for this, or even fabric paints! Add some glow in the dark stars here in there and to the edges of the initialed stars for some extra whimsy. fun project, thanks for sharing!
