Flowers and Stripes Hoodie
This knit kid's cardigan hoodie from Patons looks great in soft stripes and matching roses. A nice light jacket in the cooler seasons, for the intermediate knitter.

- Knitting Needles: sizes 3¼ mm (U.S. 3) and 4 mm (U.S. 6).
- Double pointed needles: Pair of 3¼ mm (U.S. 3), or size needed to obtain tension.
- 5 buttons.

Cont even in Stripe Pat, until Hood from pick up row measures 7½ (8-8½) ins [19 (20.5-21.5) cm] ending with RS facing for next row. Cast off.
Fold Hood in half and sew top seam.
Fold 4 cast on sts to WS and sew in position for cord casing, leaving openings for cord at cast on edges.
Cord: With MC and 2 double pointed needles, cast on 3 sts. K3. *Slide sts to other end of needle without turning work. K3. Rep from * until first cord measures 34 ins [86.5 cm]. Cast off.
Thread cord through hood casing opening. Tie a knot at each end of cord.
FINISHING: Pin garment pieces to measurements and cover with a damp cloth, allowing cloth to dry.
Using duplicate st, embroider Chart on Left Front having first st of Chart on 7th row above armhole shaping, and on 6th (9th-10th) st in from side seam.
Using duplicate st, embroider Chart on Right Front having first st of Chart on 6th row above armhole shaping, and on 8th st in from center front.
Using duplicate st, embroider Chart on Back having first st of Chart on 7th row above armhole shaping, and on 6th (9th-10th) st in from side seam for first Motif. Embroider a second Motif to correspond.
Sew in sleeves placing rows above markers along cast off sts of front and back to form square armholes. Sew side and sleeve seams. Sew buttons to correspond to buttonholes.
