I notice in the comments it states that the pattern has been updated, any chance it could be updated again to include the amount of cast on stitches?

Lisa, yes, absolutely! Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention! It should say "With A and pair of double-pointed needles, cast on 4 sts." I'll update that presently. Thank you again, and enjoy!

When you have an increase and decrease in the same row in knitting, it indicates that you are shaping the project, not every increase has to result in an increase in stitch count.

I am having trouble with this pattern. I am not sure how to increase in the uneven rows. When you yo the k2tog cancels out any increases. Please help! I would really like to make this afghan. You can email me at Shipahoy76@aol.com THANKS for any help

To all of you who have indicated that you wish there was a 'crocheted version' of this afghan, you might find what you want here... http://www.purplekittyyarns.com/crochet-afghan-patterns/7-point-star-throw Follow the pattern in the link, but use the color combinations and rows of the knitted one. The pattern is from Red Heart. Hope this helps...

Hi all. I have never left a comment on one of these things before but thought I just had to on this item. I have made this and let me tell you it turned out beautiful. It was easy to do -- I just put two sets of circular needles together (I have the kit that is interchangeable) and it worked great. I can't wait to add it to my Christmas decor. Love love love it!!!

This is a most beautiful piece of art that I would love to make, but I wish it could be converted into a crocheted afghan because my knitting is not up to this level. Can someone help figure this out, because from what I can see looking at other comments...I'm not alone in my thinking. Thank you for your help.

This link will take you to a very similar crochet ripple, star Christmas tree skirt. You could just ignore the opening and make it into an afghan. http://tinyurl.com/6aqz97 OR try this site where there are several crochet ripple star pattterns for babies, but could easily be made larger http://preview.tinyurl.com/2bs8vdk

I was hoping for a crochet pattern to this as well. Since there isn't, I'll just use the color scheme to crochet a larger version of a baby blanket pattern I have that is almost identical. Thanks for the color idea though!

I made something similar to this 20 or so yrs. ago - it was a tree skirt - on each tip I put a jingle bell. I still use it and it still looks good.
