I've never really though much about washers until now. Aside from making punk jewelry, I haven't given them any thought but now that I can make this super chic and industrial coaster I am excited. This will last you way longer and won't require alot of attention to maintain them. All you need is your washers and some jewelry glue.

How clever is this? As an alternative to the foam backing, you could use old corks underneath to accomodate heat transfer. Make them even larger to create a trivet! Or you could add some three dimensional elements with rhinestones, beads, and even bolts and leave off the foam backing to create a hanging ornament.... Though it would be a bit heavy, so make sure it is secure! Great creative idea!

How neat are these coasters. I just seen another post about using washers to make ornaments for trees. I think I am going to have to take stop in washers so that I can make a bunch of these crafts. I can start them now and have them ready for everyone by the holiday season.

this is a great idea!! I can't wait to try it.

love this!

Shoot! I'll go and buy the washers! What a great idea!
