I have some tinsel type of colored pipe cleaners that I think would make good ornaments like this. The method is so simple that I can quickly show the grandkids how to do it, too. It looks like you wouldn't even need a hanger on them, just tuck them into the tree wherever they need to go.

I heard this idea calling to me. What a neat ornament. I always end up with a space on the tree that nothing seems to cover or an ornament won't fit properly. These will be great. I could sort of stuff it into that spot and pipe cleaners will stick on tree needles so it won't fall or slide.
