I remember making dough ornaments in school when I was a child. I used to look forward to it all Autumn. My brother and I used to make most of the Christmas decorations at our house. These were a fun project to make. Some stayed on the tree at school, but we got to bring some home too.

I love this festive rustic homemade star. It is very cute. I think painting names in to it could be a lovely personal touch as well, looking forward to trying to make these, and with Christmas cookie cookers there is loads of choices to what can be made out of this dough, I just hope it doesnt smell too tasty to the dogs when its hanging up.

I made these as a kid and my son and I have made them together too. An easy project that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. We make Christmas cookies every year and this is pretty much the same idea except you use the salt dough. I've even made gingerbread houses with spice in the salt dough to make them smell nice.
