Materials List
- ½ c salt
- ½ c water
- 1 c flour
- Embossing folders
- Cookie cutters
- Nuvo embossing mousse
- Nuvo brush
- Applicators
- Microwave or oven
- Parchment paper
- Paper straw
- Scissors
- Baker’s twine, string, or ribbon
Instructions

Make dough by mixing dry ingredients then slowly adding in the water.

Knead dough until smooth.

Roll out small bits of dough and press between embossing folders – if they stick, add a bit more flour to dry it out a bit.

Cut embossed dough with cookie cutter.

Use the straw to create a small hole for hanging the ornament later.

Either dry in oven at 200 degrees for three hours or in microwave, cooking it 10 seconds at a time (you will get some bubbling in microwave if you cook it too fast).

Once dry, use the embossing mousse to add shimmery color to your ornaments

Add your string, ribbon, etc... To hang the ornament on the tree.

I imagine these would turn out really pretty! We used to make salt dough ornaments but we rolled out the dough and cut them with a cookie cutter, then we made decorations on them by hand. Not so perfect as this project would produce, but it was fun. Salt dough can be colored with food coloring, so that's fun, too.
